July theme: Boudoir Burlesque

Wed Jul 16, 2008, 12:03 AM
Ok so the competition continues...slowly...softly... like a fleeting sunset. Missed by most.

The July theme is "Boudoir Burlesque"...one of my favourites.
I'm going to have a lot of fun with this.
And I may be the only one!!
Since I'm afraid my site can no longer afford to pay models for shoots or pay for the first prize of cash.

So the competition is now just purely for the love of naked art. For the love of eccentric erotica. For anyone who cares to watch and cares to contribute.

First prize is grand exposure on the home page of my site an lots of love from me and the loyal!

If you are interested, send me a note!

I feel quite discouraged after the DA police brigade deleted half my photos and have now told me I am not allowed to put any link to my site on my DA page!

This is what they finally told me:

"I have examined this case and have also examined your website.

The fact of the matter is that your website hosts photographs of explicit oral sex under the section entitled "Latest Couples". Since you host this content your site is automatically classified as a pornography hosting website by the standards in use here and any deviation which contains a link to it will be deleted automatically by staff without prior warning.

In addition you are absolutely prohibited from linking to this website anywhere on our site; you may not mention it in journals or in any other manner. If you do so you will run the risk of your account being banned."

In actual fact my site only contains ONE folio where there is oral sex in it! (out of the hundreds of folios on there!!!)
And it is shot so beautifully and sweetly too!
So I guess I need to delete it from my site in order for my site not to be classified as a porn site!!!!

It's the same old dilemna.... the line between art and porn.
There are so many wonderful and amazing art-works on DA that specialise in nude photography. I mean I have seen some breathtakingly beautiful photos of breats and vaginas shot with incredible creativity and skill.
And these shots can be incredibly erotic ...because that part of the anatomy is magnetising and erogenous!
But does that make it pornographic????

I say NO WAY!
Art can be sexy as hell... especially if it is done stylishly and imaginatively.
Why shouldn't art also deal with sexuality?!
It deals with every other corner of the human experience dammit!

I personally hate tacky, misogynist, badly shot, mindless, banal, stereotypical, exploitative porn.

And I love stylish, intelligent, insightful, bold, artistic, subtle, controversial erotica.

And I think there is a BIG difference between the two.
Surely DA is a place where we can celebrate that difference!

UNBELIEVABLE!! Violation havoc. The DA police brigade descends with absurdity!

Ok.... so after a good healthy enjoyable DA existence for months on end... all of a sudden today I get a total of 43 messages in my inbox pretty much writing off half of my work as POLICY VIOLATIONs and even having the nerve to talk about copyright violations... when every single photo in my gallery I have total copyright over!
Not only that but they have insinuated that my models are under 18... which is totally absurd and insulting. ALL of my models are over 18 and each one has signed a release form to that effect!!
I would NEVER exploit models!

This is totally outrageous and totally uncalled for and I am really fucking pissed off!
I thought this was a mature art world where people get treated with respect.

(Oh and apparently you're not allowed to put a link to your own site as comments to your own photos...?? Oh come on DA it's not like we are trying to deprive you of traffic!
We are all artists who are also trying to promote our own work! Is that really against the rules??!I thought that's what this site was about!!)

So now I've got to go through 43 photos and argue with DA to let them get put back in my gallery!!

This really sucks.
Not to mention the fact that it is going to take me HOURS!

Nude Photography Competition Launched!

Fri May 2, 2008, 11:36 PM
Kissmybliss is excitedly launching our photography competition this week and we are now open to collect entries for our May theme!!

There will be a winner announced each month based on majority votes by members, and the winning folio will receive a cash prize of $300 (US) and a runners-up prize for second place of $200 (US).

Our aim is to support both amateur and more-experienced photographers, to invite a huge variety of styles and interpretations, and to provide a space where photographers can network, self-promote and gain exposure and recognition for their work in artitstic-erotic nude photography. We are after interesting, creative and dynamic shoots that celebrate nudity with imagination.

Check it out:

All photographers whose work gets published on the site will get free membership tomy site and will have a page dedicated to them where they can promote their work, present their gallery, put links to their own websites and receive comments from members etc.

The folios on the site are based on particular themes which change every month (see the themes below).
Our first theme is a fetish-targeted theme: SAINTS AND SINNERS

Photographers are encouraged to interpret the themes how ever they want to and to be as creative and imaginative as possible....or as simple as desired!

The members then vote for their favourite shoot based on a theme and the winning photographer gets special coverage with their photos displayed on the front page of the site for a month.

- Your photos must be of acceptable quality
- All the photos need to be original work by you

- At least 40% of the photos need to involve full nudity

- Your model/s has to be over 18

- Your photos must be saved as best quality JPEGS

- The size of your photos needs to be 1200 x 1200 minimum

- You can shoot in black and white or in colour, as you like
